Thats all about cards at the moment.

Looking out the window at the wind and sideways wind blowing down the valley, I'm wondering if its my fault, maybe if I drew in the colour the sun would come out.

Good Morning Blogger

Lovely to see you again 😃

So here I am again .... with another new blog, which isnt as bad as it sounds. I started the last new blog in 2017 when I opened my website. The website had a built in blog. At the time blogger had muddled up my sign in with someone else so I couldn't get into my original blog and I couldn't use it. I have to say I was never happy with the website blog, I couldn't beautify it or add side bars without adding them to the whole site, but I used the blog, because thats all I had.

So why have I come back to Blogger? The answer is my mailing list is unusable so I couldn't send update mails. There isn't a way for people to subscribe to the blog, the only subscriber button available is for the mailing list. Originally my site provider hosted my mailing list, all 6000 names. However last spring they stopped hosting mailing lists and started using a third party instead. The third party charges a huge  monthly fee for lists over 200, it works out as lot more than I earn from the site. So I've had to say goodbye to all 6000 members of my mailing list, without being able to tell them why I'm hoping some of my old mailing list members will rediscover me here.
I've added subscriber buttons to the blog, so you can follow me and my ramblings here. Another bonus of using blogger is that I don't feel I need to be quite so business like.

I've just realised I've had a good moan about website blogs and not told you who I am.
I am Amanda Perkins, late of The Natural Dye Studio and Amanda Perkins Crochet, now I'm Amanda Perkins Art.
I retired from my crochet designer career and changed direction during the second year of covid, I think covid affected everyone to some extent in a negative way.
I re-evaluated my life and realised I wanted to be the thing I've wanted to be all my life, which is an artist. I've spent my whole career enabling others to follow their creative paths by dyeing yarn and writing crochet patterns, but I wasn't following my own creative path.

So introduction post over, here's a taste of what I'm doing now, this is my latest finished drawing, its an artist's map of Lynmouth.

More tomorrow or maybe next week, maybe next month, but definitely soon.
Amanda
